Abstract

ABSTRACT Drug interaction is the effect of a drug caused when there are two or more drugs that interact and affect the body's response to treatment. This study is a descriptive study using a non-experimental observational method with a cross-sectional approach using retrospective observation by taking data in December 2020 - August 2021. Patient data collection was obtained from patient medical record data with a sampling technique that is purposive sampling with inclusion criteria as much as 43 patients were taken as samples. Data analysis using medscape and drugs.com applications. A total of 43 prescriptions there are 14 prescriptions that have the potential to experience drug interactions where the highest level of drug interaction significance is the moderate level (94.4%) then the major level (5.6%). The most drug interactions were the interactions between Azithromycin and atorvastatin as many as 9 patients classified as moderate interactions (50%), then the interactions between azithromycin with simvastatin and azithromycin with rivaroxaban were 4 patients classified as moderate interactions (22.2%) and the interactions between azithromycin and amiodarone in 1 patient classified as a major interaction (5.6%). The most frequently used type of Covid-19 drug was Azithromycin (13.5%) and the most frequently used Cardiovascular drug was Furosemide (13.8%)
