Abstract
Acne Vulgaris merupakan jenis penyakit pada kulit yang diakibatkan penyumbatan folikel rambut oleh minyak dan kulit mati namun tidak bersifat menular. Dengan munculnya acne vulgaris di masa remaja, maka kesadaran akan pentingnya penampilan diri dalam kehidupan sosial dapat mempengaruhi konsep diri remaja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran konsep diri pada remaja dengan acne vulgaris di SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Gondanglegi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa jurusan perhotelan di SMK Muhammdiyah 7 Gondanglegi sebanyak 91 siswa. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling, jumlah sampel sebanyak 36 responden. Variabel yang diteliti adalah konsep diri pada remaja dengan acne vulgaris. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner dengan media google form. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis univariat. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan April – Mei 2022. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar responden memiliki konsep diri negatif sebanyak 20 responden (55.56%) dan hampir setengahnya memiliki konsep diri positif sebanyak 16 responden (44.44%). Konsep diri negatif dimungkinkan karena faktor usia, jenis kelamin, acne vulgaris diwajah, dan upaya penanganan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diharapkan siswa dapat mengurangi respon emosi yang negatif dengan lebih percaya diri dan menerima keadaan fisiknya, selalu berpikir positif, dan mendapat dukungan sosial dari orang sekitar. ABSTRACT Acne vulgaris is a type of skin disease caused by the blockage of hair follicles by oil and dead skin but is not contagious. With the emergence of acne vulgaris in adolescence, awareness of the importance of self -- appearance in social life can affect adolescent self -- concept. The purpose of this research study is to describe the self -- concept of adolescents with acne vulgaris at SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Gondanglegi which is the subject of this research. The research study participants were all students majoring in hospitality at SMK Muhammdiyah 7 Gondanglegi totaling 91 students. The research study design used a descriptive method with a sampling technique using purposive sampling with a sample of 36 respondents. The variables studied were self -- concept in adolescents with acne vulgaris. The research instrument used a questionnaire with google form media. The results of the study were analyzed using univariate analysis. This research was conducted in April – May 2022. The results of the research study data show that most of the respondents have a negative self-concept as many as 20 respondents (55.56%) and almost half have a positive self -- concept as many as 16 respondents (44.44%). Negative self -- concept is possible because of age, gender, facial acne vulgaris, and treatment efforts. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that students were expected to reduce negative emotional responses by being more confident and accepting of their physical condition, always thinking positively, and getting social support from the people around them.
