Abstract

Mahasiswa baru merupakan individu yang sedang menghadapi masa transisi dari SMA ke dunia perkuliahan. Situasi baru seperti teman baru, lingkungan baru, tuntutan akademik yang jauh lebih sulit dari tingkat pendidikan sebelumnya menjadikan alasan mahasiswa kesulitan dalam melakukan penyesuaian dengan lingkungan baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa baru prodi DIII Keperawatan Angkatan 2021–2022 di ITSK RS dr.Soepraoen Malang. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa baru angkatan 2021 – 2022 prodi DIII Keperawatan. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah total sampling dengan besar sampel 142 responden. Variabel yang diteliti adalah tingkat penyesuaian diri mahasiswa baru. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis univariat. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner dengan media google form. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 23 April–8 Mei 2022. Data hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki tingkat penyesuaian diri yang tinggi yaitu sejumlah 103 responden (72.54%) dan sebagian kecil penyesuaian diri rendah yaitu 3 responden (2.11%). Penyesuaian diri yang rendah dimungkinkan karena faktor latar belakang pendidikan, motif dan minat. Maka dari itu diharapkan bagi mahasiswa baru untuk memiliki mekanisme koping yang efektif, sehingga proses penyesuaian diri dapat dilakukan secara maksimal ABSTRACT New students are individuals who are faced a transition period from high school to the world of lectures. New situations such as new friends, new environment, academic demands that are more difficult than the previous level of education are the reasons students find it difficult to adjust to the new environment. This study aims to determine the description of the adjustment to new students of the DIII Nursing Study Program Class of 2021-2022 at ITSK RS dr.Soepraoen Malang. The design of this research was descriptive. The population of this researched was all new students from the 2021–2022 class of Nursing Diploma study program. The sampled technique used total sampling with a sample size of 142 respondents. The variable studied was the level of adjustment of new students. The results of the study were analyzed using univariate analysis. The research instrument used a questionnaire with google form media. This research was conducted on April 23–May 8, 2022. The research data showed that most of the respondents have a high level of self-adjustment namely 103 respondents (72.54%), moderate adjustment 36 respondents (25.35%), and low self-adjustment 3 respondents (2.11%). Low self-adjustment was possible due to educational background, motives and interests. Therefore, it is expected for new students to have an effective copied mechanism, so that the adjustment process can be carried out optimally
