Abstract

ABSTRAK . Kemoterapi merupakan terapi yang sering digunakan pada pasien kanker. Efek samping dari kanker dan terapinya dapat menyebabkan pengalaman emosional yang tidak menyenangkan. Salah satu efek seperti kecemasan sering muncul pada pasien yang menjalani kemoterapi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat kecemasan pada pasien kanker di Unit Kemoterapi RS dr. Soepraoen Malang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian secara kuantitatif, dan desain penelitian deskriptif. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 44 responden. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah tingkat kecemasan pada pasien kanker yang menjalani kemoterapi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan kuesioner Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HARS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hampir setengah responden mengalami kecemasan sedang yaitu 19 responden (43%), hampir setengah responden mengalami kecemasan ringan sebanyak 16 responden (36%), dan sebagian kecil responden yang tidak mengalami kecemasan sebanyak 9 responden (20%). Melihat hasil penelitian ini maka responden perlu mengembangkan strategi koping dan belajar mengubah situasi masalah, mengelola tekanan emosional, dan memahami tentang kanker dan kemoterapinya. Dukungan keluarga juga berperan penting sehingga kecemasan dapat teratasi secara optimal. Kata Kunci: tingkat kecemasan, pasien kanker, kemoterapi. ABSTRACT Chemotherapy is a therapy that is often used for cancer patients. The side effects of cancer and the theraphy causes the worst emotional experience. Side effects of cancer and its treatment can cause unpleasant emotional experiences. One of the effect such as anxiety often felt by chemotheraphy patients. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of cancer patient’s anxiety in Chemotheraphy Unit RS dr. Soepraoen Malang. The research method used in this study is quantitative, and the research design is descriptive. The sample was taken using a purposive sampling, the results are 44 respondents. The variable in this study is the level of cancer patient’s anxiety. And the research instrument is the questionnaire of Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HARS). The results of this research shows that almost a half of respondents (43%) feel moderate anxiety (19 respondents), also almost a half of respondents (36%) feel mild anxiety (16 respondents), and a small percentage (20%) of respondents didn’t feel anxiety (9 respondents). Based on the results of the study, the respondents need to develop coping strategies, learn to change problem situations, managing emotional stress, and learning about cancer and the treatments. Family support also plays an important role, so the anxiety will be resolved optimally. Key Words: the level of anxiety, cancer patients, chemotheraphy.
