Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension is a disease that affects many people both young and old age. Hypertension is a disease that is "the silent killer". Problems felt every different person there felt pain in the back of the head there is no pain at all. One cause of CVA attacks (Cerebral Vascular Accident) is hypertension. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship of Incident Hypertension with CVA Recurrent Attack at Stroke Unit of dr. Soepraoen Malang. The design of this study used analytical observational design correlation correlation with retrospective. The population is all patients in the Stroke Unit Room. The sampling method used is purposive sampling with the number of samples as many as 105 respondents who experienced the first attack or more than 2 times and suffered from hypertension, in October-December 2017. The variables included are Incident Hypertension and Recurrent CVA Attack. This data is taken using a recapitulation sheet. After tabulated the existing data were analyzed by using Lamda test with significance level 0,005. The result showed that hypertension incidence was non hypertension category 14 respondent (28,2%), and hypertension in category 91 respondent (71,8%). Recurrent CVA attacks that experienced the first attack were 57 respondents (54.2%), and those who experienced the attack> 2 times ie 48 respondents (45.8%). The result of statistic test showed that there was a correlation between hypertension incidence and CVA incidence with correlation coefficient value of 0,029. Looking at the results of this study it is necessary to monitor blood pressure in order to minimize the incidence of CVA attacks over and over. Keywords: Incident hypertension, Recurrent CVA attacks.
